The genesis of my brand, GODDI, was born from a profound moment of self-realization and a deep connection to the world of fashion. In the early 80s, I introduced the term "GODDI" to symbolize the concept of "Godd’image." GODDI for my clothing brand Despite lacking a specific definition, this name has been embraced by millions without grasping its original significance. From hip-hop artists to fashion designers to Cybersecurity geeks GODD’ IMAGE - GODDI has gained popularity, serving as the name for my clothing brand. While the word itself may not hold inherent meaning beyond its inception, it has permeated various contexts and contributed to the success of my clothing line. I was sentenced to prison for 25 years as a non-violent drug offender, the word gained traction in various contexts." reflects my belief in the divine spark within each of us and the power of self-expression through clothing. It was during a period of personal challenge and transformation that I felt the stirrings of a dream taking shape within me.In the late 80s, after a life-altering incident I was shot in my left kneecap by a 40 hat left me facing the possibility of never walking again, I turned to the transformative power of creativity and self-belief. Drawing inspiration from the biblical notion of mankind made in God's image, I refused to accept the limitations imposed on me and embarked on a journey of reinvention.Dapper Dan of Harlem, renowned as the Godfather of hip-hop fashion, played a pivotal role in shaping my love for the artistry of clothing design. Frequenting his shop on 125th St. in New York City, I found myself immersed in a world of vibrant colors, bold designs, and larger-than-life personalities. It was there that my passion for fashion blossomed, fueled by encounters with icons of the music and entertainment industry. As I navigated through personal challenges, including a lengthy prison 25yrs sentence as a nonviolent offender, due to a cocaine addiction my dedication to fashion remained unwavering. GODDI emerged as a creative outlet for me to share my journey of redemption, resilience, and hope with the world. The logo, featuring two interlocking G's with sharp fangs, symbolizes the ebb and flow of life's challenges and triumphs, adding a touch of edginess and boldness to the brand. With the relaunch of the collection in 2010, GODDI has evolved into a reflection of my story, blending elements of nature, vibrant colors, and intricate details to create garments that inspire joy and positivity. The DOUBLE GG motif in the logo serves as a reminder of the journey towards self-discovery and transformation, encapsulating the essence of the brand's ethos.Today, as I reflect on the struggles and successes that have shaped me, GODDI stands as a testament to the power of resilience, creativity, and the pursuit of one's dreams. Through each piece in the collection, I strive to share a message of empowerment, hope, and the endless possibilities that arise when we dare to dream those dreams that really do come true GODDI
